BravoVelo! 2011 : Cycling through the green lung of Brussels (Uccle)
Family photo rally for cyclists closes the summer off
BravoVelo!, an initiative of the local cyclists movement, invites everybody (old and young) to enjoy cycling in Brussels. BravoVelo! wants to give an impetus for everyday cycling.
On Sunday afternoon August 28, 2011, anyone who has a bike can explore the south of Brussels during a family photosearch. It will be a quiet Sunday journey, partly by planned routes. It is a green path and discovers surprising places.
You can set off between 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. at the Houblon-Keyenbempt Junction (Alsembergsesteenweg, Uccle) near the station of Uccle-Calevoet, or alternatively in the District House Carloo (part of the Community Centre Candelaershuys near Sint-Job). The bike ride is approximately 15 km long and connects these two places in a circular route.
Photographer Jeroen Van Gent took tthe photographs that the participants will have to recognize on the basis of a road book.
In addition, all participants are welcome to the "Table of Calevoet" which Candelaershuys offers to the public in the unique allotments of Keyenbempt. You can have a healthy drink and eat a snack straight from the garden. And there even may be an ecological "epo" drink to regain strength ... Around 17h, the known ithe flemish comedian Jonathan Bockstael will give his vision on cycling ...
The bike is an excellent way of going around : good health, relaxing, environmentally friendly, sporty ! So bravo bravo to the bike and the rider.
